Hampshire Schools' AA Cross-Country Championships
Unfortunately the Championships had to be cancelled. Temperatures overnight were significantly lower than forecast the day before! After inspections between 08:15 and 09:15, consideration of delayed start times and looking at adapted courses, a group of HSAA officers decided that the only safe action was to cancel, bearing in mind that jogging around sections of the park was very different to athletes racing in dangerous conditions.
Even by midday, large sections of the course remained icy and rutted, and linking sections of the Sports Centre for any course was impossible.
We offer our sincere apologies to athletes, parents and teachers, many of whom still attended on Saturday morning.

ESAA Cross-Country Championships
At the ESAA Cross-Country Championships, Hampshire had a successful day, winning gold, silver and bronze team medals, and being the third-best boys' team overall. Read more

Hampshire Schools' AA Inter-School Team competition for School Years 7, 8 & 9
The 2022 competition was cancelled owing to inclement weather.
The 2021 competition was held at Bedales Prep School, Dunhurst near Petersfield on Monday 22 November:

Inter-School Team competition for School Years 7, 8 & 9
Usually held in November/December. Individuals may also enter but entry must be made by the School.

County Championships for U15, U17 and U19 Boys and Girls
Held in January. For age group definition please see the English Schools' AA website. Entry is made by the 10 District Associations usually after their own District Trial or Championship. This is both a team competition and an Individual Championship.
Teams are then selected for an Inter County Match.

Inter-County Cross-Country
For the above age groups held in February. Teams of up to 20 are selected in each age group. The competition is for at least 6 Counties.

English Schools Cross-Country Championships
For the above age groups held in March. Teams of 12 are selected in each age group and are entered. Teams are selected from results in the Hampshire Schools Championships and the Inter-County match. A final 8 are then selected to compete. This will usually involve an overnight stay depending on the venue. Travel will be by team coach and all athletes must travel and stay with the team. The first 8 Junior and Intermediate athletes at this event are selected to compete in the Schools (SIAB) Home Countries International Match.
